Joy Li brings to her performances a deep understanding of the characters she is to depict, as she is a long-time student of early Chinese literature. Her study of music, in addition, gives her particularly accurate rhythm. Ms. Li's primary training is in Chinese classical dance, however. In NTDTV’s 2005 Chinese New Year Spectacular, she was a guest performer in Eight Immortals Crossing the Sea. The next year, she returned to the Spectacular and performed in dances such as Illuminating the Divine Land, Nine Swords, and The Celestial Drums. Through the medium of stage performance, Ms. Li hopes to foster an appreciation for traditional Chinese culture in people around the world .
