Born into a family of musicians, Chia-Chi Lin took up violin at the age of three-and-a-half and has since been the recipient of numerous awards. After graduating from high school in Taiwan, she moved to the United States to pursue further education in music at a number of institutions, including Rice University and the Peabody Conservatory at Johns Hopkins University. After completing her studies, Ms. Lin became the Principal Second Violinist of the Honolulu Symphony Orchestra. Since 1992 she has been a first violinist in the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.
